A Quality Practice Intervention for a Whole-team Approach
Meantóir offers a range of practical skills building Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities to suit the whole staff team. At a time when face-to-face training is not available due to the pandemic, it is particularly important to keep practice fresh and consistent across the educator team.
The model outlined below was devised by Meantóir at the beginning of the pandemic as we passionately believe that training is much more effective with follow-up mentoring. We are now advertising this package on a wider basis as feedback from the tester model was excellent.
Each topic package has 3 steps which take place over a 3-week allocated time-period, involving TRAINING, REVIEW, and MENTORING.
How it works:
Choose a topic – e.g. Learning Stories/Planning for Emergent Curriculum
Step 1: Your staff team undertake the ‘Creating Learning Stories’ or ‘Planning for Emergent Curriculum’ e-CPD programme on the Meantóir Platform www.earlyedcpd.ie. Each member of staff undertakes the programme at a time that suits in the space of one week. They compile a list of questions for the follow up mentoring session.
Step 2: Sample learning stories/curriculum plans completed after the training are submitted to Meantóir for review and feedback.
Step 3: Once the sample learning stories/plans are reviewed, a team mentoring session is organised over ZOOM to provide positive critique and to answer team questions/provide clarifications where necessary.
Each participating educator receives a personalised certificate of participation following completion of the online course. Each service gets a personalised Quality Workforce Mentoring Certificate to display as evidence of quality intervention activities undertaken by the whole service.
Cost: (open to all service but note Meantóir DISCOUNTS for members of TribeMOSAIC)
€55 per staff member (MOSAIC services) /€65 per staff member
or
€500 per MOSAIC service up to 10 educators /€600 for staff team up to 10 educators per group.
