Puppets have enduring appeal. They ‘speak’ to babies, toddlers and young children in a universal language. Puppets are entertainers, friends, empaths, storytellers, and sharers of knowledge. 

This article considers the value of using puppets as a pedagogical tool to support the wellbeing, learning and development of children in early education. It helps the educator appreciate the value of using puppets to implement Aistear learning goals and offers relatable tips for everyday practice.
